Milos Beaches

Milos has probably got more beaches than any other island in the Cyclades. There are around 70 beaches, most unspoiled by tourism. It is worth mentioning here that due to sea currents that exist in the area, it is hard to describe the beaches precisely, since from one year to the next many of them could change in shape and form.

There is a list of the most popular ones:

Papikina: Near Adamanta, easily accessible and with a lot of trees.

Lagada: Extensive, sandy, with quite a lot of shade from trees. You can do a number of water sports here.

Kleftiko:One of the best but hard to get on foot.  It is better to use one of the boats that leave from Adamantas.

Sarakiniko: A volcanic landscape with a lot of fossils.

Mitaca or Alogomandra: Situated just beyond the beach of Sarakiniko.

Pollonia: A small sandy beach near the village of the same name.

Paleohori: One of the largest beaches, 2km in length.

Kolibisionas, Tria Pigadia, Rematos and Kastanas: Good beaches on the east of the island.

Thiorichia: Near the old quarries of Thio (sulphur).

Papafragas: Not easily accessible, in the north east of the island. The cave of Papafragas is worth a visit.

Provatas: 7km from Adama.  Good beach, well organized.

Firiplaka: Well organized beach.

Tsigrado: The descent to the beach is easy but the sand makes climbing back up difficult.

Franceskaki & Piromenes: Small sandy, isolated beaches.

Plathenia:  200 meters in length, 7km away from Plaka with fine white sand.

Sikias: Isolated beach, surrounded by rocks and good for snorkeling.

Achivadolimni: one of the nicest beaches with sand and shade for few trees. Best choice for the surfers.

Turkothalassa and many many others to visit.
