Leave by the coastal road along the Saronic Gulf to the Corinth Canal, which connects the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea, (short stop).  Drive to Mycenae, the Homeric city of Atreides, the city “rich in gold” of the ancient poets.  Visit the Lion’s Gate, the Cyclopean Walls, and the Royal Tombs e.t.c.  Depart for Nauplion through the fertile plain of Argolis, the picturesque town nestling at the foot of a cliff crowned by the mighty ramparts of the Palamidi Fortress (short photo stop), leave for Epidaurus, to visit the Theatre (4th century B.C.) famous for its astonishing acoustics.  Return to Athens by the National road connecting Epidaurus with Corinth.  Lunch in Mycenae.

Depart from Kalambaka, drive through the plain of Thessaly and the valley of Tempi, arrive and visit the Archaeological Park of Dion. Admire also the gigantic figure of Mount Olympus, the highest mountain in Greece and home of the 12 Gods of Mythology. After the visit depart for Thessaloniki,the second largest and the most vibrant city in Greece. Dinner and overnight.
5th day: Depart in the morning for the Macedonian hinterland and the town of Kastoria, renown center of the fur industry and also famous for its Lake and its 75 Byzantine churches. A Neolithic Lake Settlement 7000 years old was discovered here and you will be able to stroll through and admire the reconstruction of the village which represents the contemporary museological concept. After Kastoria continue driving in the plateau of Western Macedonia and arrive in the picturesque town of Edessa. Here you can see the town’s famous landmark, the Waterfalls. Then, proceed to Pella, the capital of Alexander the Great. See the exquisite floor mosaics of the 4th century b.C. villas, in situ as well as in the local Museum. Return to Thessaloniki for dinner and overnight.


6th day: See in the morning the city that throughout the era of the Byzantine Empire was the “co-reigning” city, second in population and prestige only to Constantinople. Visit unique monuments and feel the glorious Byzantine past in some of the oldest and most characteristic churches of the Christian world as well as in the Museum of Byzantine Culture, awarded with the Council of Europe’s Museum Prize for the year 2005. Rest of the day free, to enjoy time in the lively center of the city. Dinner and overnight.

7th day: Drive to Vergina, to live the experience of a visit to the unique Museum, created in the Great Tumulus covering the royal tombs of Macedonia. See the astonishing findings from the tomb of King Philip II, Alexander’s father, and feel the thrill of the greatest discovery of the 20th century. After the visit we shall start driving south and through Thessaly, Lamia, Thermopylae (see the Leonidas’ Monument) and Thebes, arrive in Athens late in the afternoon.

12.  Ancient Corinth half day

Leave Athens and drive South West until we reach the Corinth Canal which connects the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea (short stop).  Drive on and visit the ancient town of Corinth where St. Paul lived and preached for two years. The remains of the City, which include the Agora (market place) and Apollo’s Temple (6th century B.C.) clearly show how rich and important Corinth was in Ancient Times.  A short stop at the Site of the Ancient Port of Cehries, where St. Paul disembarked, will conclude the visit.  Return to Athens in time for lunch.

13. One day Cruise to HYDRA – POROS - AEGINA 
Daily Service
Dep. 08.00 – Ret. 19.15 approximately
In the morning we take you by bus, from Athens to Piraeus for your embarkation to the cruise boat. At: 08.30 depart to Hydra, where we arrive at: 11.45. Here you have free time for a walk or a swim.  At: 13.30 embarkation and sail for Aegina past through Poros and seashore of Peloponnese.  The lunch will be served during the voyage. At: 15.30 we arrive at Aegina where you have time for a swim. Optional excursion, by bus, to the fine preserved Temple of Afea Athena. At: 18.00 embarkations for the voyage of return to the port. Arrive to Piraeus, late in the after noon.

ITINERARIES: As specifically mentioned in each tour.  In case of a force major and / or reasons beyond our control and events that occur after the tour departure, we reserve the right to modify the routing and alter the itineraries.
BAGGAGE’S: Is at the risk of every individual passenger. G.O.TOURS S.A.” and its agents cannot be held responsible for any damage caused to luggage while on our motor coaches or while loading and unloading. Rates quoted include handling one piece of luggage per person. 
LOST ITEMS: Small articles, coats, wraps, umbrellas, cameras, hand bags and any other items are carried on a motor coach are entirely under the care of the passenger who is cautioned of the risk attached to these being left in conveyances.  Every effort will be made to retrieve lost or forgotten items. However, “G.O.TOURS S.A.” and its agents, in no way can be held responsible if such items are not retrieved. 
INSURANCE: Passengers are covered against injuries while on coaches only.

Before departing from the Bus Terminal at the indicated time G.O.TOURS provides FREE pick-up service from most Athens Hotels.
